Empuriabrava has two long safe sandy beaches on either side of the marina. Beach bars serving cold drinks and snacks offer shade and refreshment. The main beach offers a range of water based activities in the high season. Within a short driving distance there are many more beaches and water based trips and activities. A boat trip will take you to the Medes Islands, a fish reserve off the coast of Estartit where snorkelling and diving are popular, or just watch the sealife through the glass bottom boats. |

The Aqua Park a few minutes drive away in Roses has a wide variety of water rides and other water attractions, wave pool, kids lagoon etc. It is usually open from 1st June to 19th September from 10am till 7pm. 2010 price 25 euros per person for a full day pass. 2 day passes also available. |

Empuriabrava is host to Europe's largest sky diving centre. Feeling adventurous - try a tandem sky dive - no experience necessary, or just go to soak up the atmosphere. The centre also has a bar and catering facilities, an experience not to be missed. |

The Dali Theatre-Museum in nearby Figueres contains the broadest range of works spanning the artistic career of Salvador Dali (1904-1989), from his earliest artistic experiences and his creations within the Surrealist movement down to the works of the last years of his life. |

The remote coastal village of Cadaques is famous for being refuge to many artists from all over the world including Salvador Dali. It is situated in the heart of the natural reserve of El Cap de Creus. It's white facades and the peace and quiet of the streets of the village make a visit worthwhile. |

On the way to El Port de la Selva visit the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rhodes. The spectacular appearance of this monastery, together with its conservation turns it into the leading exponent of Romanesque art in the region of Girona. It also has fabulous views over the Mediterranean. |

After visiting the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rhodes wind your way slowly down the mountainside to the picturesque village of El Port de la Selva for a long leisurely lunch at one of the many restaurants. You may also have time to visit Cadaques on your return to Empuriabrava. |

Hire a bike to visit the beautiful medieval village of Castello d'Empuries 5km away. Cycle down the new traffic free cycle paths through the countryside to see the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria built in the 12th Century. Cycle via the bird sanctuary on the south side of town, binoculars available at the sanctuary. |

Visit the historic city of Girona with it's narrow streets to wander and explore. Take time to visit the Jewish Quarter and the Cathedral with it's unique gothic nave , large bell tower and Romanesque Cloisters. |

In the Natural Park 'Aiguamolls de l'Emporda 7 km away you will discover a great variety of animal species and rich vegetation. Moorhens, coots and storks live side by side with all types of insects, frogs, badgers, rabbits, weasels and even otters in a protected area. |
